Northgate Urban Center Plan serves to envision more sustainable and equitable urban growth in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle in the next 20 years.

This long-range planning initiative is being led by Seva Workshop for the City of Seattle. Isidor Studio collaborated with the project team to lead design and material production for engagement materials including (1) the creation of a photo-collage graphic to serve as a key visual across project materials, and (2) the development of an interactive community mapping installation that was reproduced across multiple community spaces. The mapping installation was co-developed alongside an online engagement survey that crowdsourced community feedback to identify key existing spaces and sites in the neighborhood alongside visions for future neighborhood improvements.

The project is ongoing until 2025, with the goal of creating an Urban Center Plan that identifies a refreshed community vision and supports neighborhood-specific strategies to prepare for incoming growth and investment. Informed by robust community engagement, the strategies will reflect the community’s values, challenges, opportunities, and goals.
