Isidor Studio served as a research and design consultant on the project, which was led by Agency Landscape and Planning as the prime consultant. Running through 2024, this innovative project aimed to ensure that Boston’s design reflected the diverse individuals that comprised the City and its communities.
The project included research, observation, and engagement with the Boston community to evaluate how the city looked, felt, supported movement, and built community. It also included interviews with public sector design leaders and industry experts, as well as benchmarking research from peer communities. Supported by community-specific design typologies and an implementation roadmap, this work will inform how future spaces are designed, communicate what is important for communities to thrive, and promote equitable growth and development.
Agency led planning, design, and landscape architecture, working closely with Isidor Studio for urban research and graphic design, DREAM Collaborative for urban design and architecture, Consult LeLa for local outreach and communication, and photographer OJ Slaughter for photography and engagement support.
